From Milwaukee to Melbourne this month, critics have been raving about Joyce Yang. Milwaukee Journel-Sentinel reveled in the "vivid colors" and "beautifully sculpted phrases” in her performance of Rachmaninoff's first piano concerto with the Milwaukee Symphony under Edo de Waart. At the Sydney Opera House with the Sydney Symphony, "from the moment she sat down to play Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 she owned it," noted J-Wire, praising her "powerful technique" and "finest pianissimo." Joyce also played recitals in Melbourne and Sydney. Arts Hub declared the latter "one of the best piano recitals of the last couple of years."
